Forensic Document Examiners, Inc. consists of a staff dedicated to providing professional services in a timely manner in the field of questioned documents.
Katherine Mainolfi Koppenhaver, Certified Questioned Document Examiner
Katherine Koppenhaver has been a document examiner, also known as a handwriting expert, since 1983 and a Certified Forensic Document Examiner since 1986. She is past president of the National Association of Document Examiners (NADE) and former editor of the Communique, NADE's quarterly newsletter. Ms. Koppenhaver founded the International Association of Document Examiners (IADE) in 2015.
- Consults on cases for her peer on a regular basis and helps to train other document examiners
- Has been appointed to assist judges in making decisions in cases involving questioned documents and has served as a single joint expert on cases
Ms. Koppenhaver wrote Attorney's Guide to Document Examination published by Greenwood Publishers, and also wrote a college textbook: Forensic Document Examination, Principles and Practice, published by Springer.
In 2013, Ms. Koppenhaver was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from her fellow document examiners. It reads: "In recognition and appreciation for more than three decades dedicated to the profession of forensic document examination through research, teaching, training and publication."
